Meh....

It's a bittersweet cheatday..
All we had for breakfast was stale bread... I've got no sweets, no lunch.. and I was hoping to get a pizza for dinner.. but there's just no money for it :'(

Day 13 - cheat day #2!

So cheat day #2 has arrived - I will most certainly not gorge on bread for breakfast again ;)

Lost 700 grams since yesterday so I'm at 6.1 kilos total (13,5 pounds)

Sorry for the late update, my phone died yesterday so I had to get a replacement (I blog via my phone)

But I was on the scale again today and the total is now 5,4 kilos so great progress there

Skipped breakfast since I was in a hurry, and lunch was the lovely Bolognese again ;)

And dinner! Bolognese on a bed of fried mushrooms and fresh carrots

Amazing "bean" bolognese

I've never made bolognese from scratch before, it's always been the quick way with a glass of dolmio and some meat heated up in like 15-20 minutes.

Bits while back I saw Buddy Valestro (from cake boss on TLC) make a bolognese on his "sister" program kitchen boss which looked amazing, the trick was to let it simmer for hours at low heat

Contents:
a stalk of celery
Half a red bell pepper
Half a yellow bell pepper
Two spring onion
All of the above was minced/chopped
4 sliced mushrooms
2 cans of chopped tomatoes (I bought with basil)
Tomato can filled with water 1,5 times (for easy measurement)
400 grams of ground beef
1 veggie stock cube
Half a beef stock cube
A teaspoon of chili powder
A handful of black beans
A handful of pinto beans

Fry off the veggies and the add the beef and let it cook through, don't brown the beef.

Now add the tomatoes, water and stock cubes (possibly dissolve the cubes in the water first.

Reduce heat (I set it to 3, the Max is 6) and let it simmer for about an hour under lid, after the first hour put in the beans and lower the heat again (set to 2 of 6) and let it simmer for another hour to hour and a half

If you aren't on a diet, or your diet allows pasta, some fresh fettuccini would most likely be great with this, or perhaps some spaghetti

But I served it in heart lettuce leafs as a kind of taco shell

Morning Day10

So I went on the scale this morning, and was pleasantly surprised
I lost 1.1 kilo since yesterday (2.4 pounds) so now I'm at a total of 3.9 kilos! Or 8.5 pounds

Breakfast today was an omelet like yesterday but I added some minced celery stalk, about half a stalk and also 2 sliced radishes.
Other than that they were identical

Simply Red

Tastes surprisingly well, especially for a 5 dollar wine

Bean & lentil soup

I've seen a lot of recipe's for lentilsoup, but I didn't pay attention so I made up my own ∩__∩

Contents:
half a handful of pinto beans
About a cup of lentils (I used red one's)
2 teaspoons of cottage cheese
1 veggie stock cube
1/4 teaspoon garam Masala spice mix
1/2 teaspoon of curry powder
Fresh basil
Salt & pepper

While boiling the lentils I flash defrosted/heated the beans in the microwave, then put them into the mini chopper (blender should do the trick too), added the spices and cottage cheese then minced it all, then added the stock which I had dissolved in a little hot water and minced yet again.
When the lentils are done start adding to the mix in the chopper until it gets a desired texture/thickness - if you find that you can't add enough lentils without it getting too thick, ad a bit more hot water
season with salt and pepper for taste

This is enough for 1 person

Breakfast Day9

After trolling through the interwebs trying to see how to make match tea, I decided to make some breakfast

Lovely omelet with veggies and cottage cheese

Fried some mushroom, black beans, beansprouts and minced spinach (all about a handful for easy measure) with a bit of salt and pepper

Cracked 3 eggs in a cup, added salt and freshly ground pepper + 2 teaspoons of cottage cheese and stirred

As the greens were frying I lowered the stove temperature (it's best to work with eggs at low heat) when it was low enough I simply added the egg mix, distributed evenly and let it sit until the eggs were cooked, this is a matter of preference though, some like their egg a bit moist and soggy, I prefer mmine quite dry

I've never used or eaten cottage cheese before, but even though it didn't melt/dissolve as I hoped, it did give the omelet quite a creamy texture

And of course 2 slices of turkey bacon on the side

CHINA MAIL!!

I order shit on eBay from China all the time.. Cuzz it's cheap.. so I buy a lot of 99cent items

But this arrived today! Matcha green tea powder, which should assist in my weight loss.. plus it was only $5, it costs like $40 in Denmark

Also lost 200grams today, brings me back to a totaling 2.8 kilo's

A Touch of Red

Bought myself a cheap bottle of red wine today because I felt like it, Timothy Ferris also said that a glass after every night doesn't hurt weight loss... aaaaaand it was only 5 bucks

Tonight's dinner was fried goods yet again!

Contents:
Kebab meat
Half a stalk of celery (minced)
mushrooms
Haricot verts
Black beans
All of the above was about a handful

Added celery, kebab and mushrooms to a pan and simmered with my "special paste mix"  (teaspoon of red curry paste + a veggie stock cube dissolved in a tablespoon of hot water) and let it all marinade, also added as swig of red wine - then added the rest and let it fry for a bit

Salad with a bit of oil, salt and pepper + a glass of red on the side

Tasted great!

Lunch Day8

Monday is shopping day, so apart from the usual mushrooms, beansprouts and spinach I got some celery (the green stalks) and radishes

Fried some kebab meat with a mixture of a teaspoon of curry paste and a veggie stock cube dissolved in a tablespoon of hot water

Minced 1 stalk of celery
Minced 2 radishes
Added the two to the pan to reduce the water from the celery.

Then added 1.5 cups of black beans and let it all heat up

Last I added a good handful of fresh spinach and a handful of beansprouts  and heated them up without overfrying them

Tasted good but there was a bit top much celery, so maybe only half a stalk next time

Do you have any suggestions for me?
recipes to try, something I need to/could change in my diet?
or something completely different?
let me know in a comment!
Or at dummiesworld@hotmail.com

Morning Day8

Lost a bit of the cheatday weight, 800 grams so that's good

ProTip: check if you need to go shopping even if your smashed after a night out.. I didn't have anything for breakfast so had to take the leftovers I planned to have for lunch with eggs and turkey bacon for breakfast

Dinner Day7

Just woke up about an hour ago, I really needed the sleep after last night

So sleep means I skipped lunch - but had to make some dinner even though it's so late

Minced half a medium sized courgette  with the magical minichopper!
Fried some of the moisture out on the pan and added a bit of pepper and some lemon juice
Added haricot verts black beans and chicken sausage and let it fry, then added veggie stock and let it reduce
Half for now, half for lunch tomorrow

The morning after

My stomach is still pretty annoyed at me, but it's getting better
Had a great night but unfortunately I got tired really early so I might have seemed really boring to the others :P

But as expected I gained some weight, 2 kilo's, but then again I couldn't weigh myself until I got home, And before that happened I had alertly had breakfast, my 1.5 liters of water and about half a liter of diet coke, so a lot of waterweight in the 2 kg
